To provide admission to Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Officers’ Training Academy, Union Public Service Commission, twice a year conducts Combined Defence Services Examination. For both the examinations of UPSC CDS 2018, the procedure to going through online registration, downloading Admit Cards, Answer Key & Merit List, checking Results & Cut Off etc. are totally different with the gap of almost 6 months between the two.

Here, the last date to apply for UPSC CDS I exam is 4th December 2017 and written test is scheduled to organise on 4th February 2018. Thus, be prepared to download next exam Call letters or CDS 1 Admit Card 2018 in the second or third week of January 2018.
UPSC CDS 2 Answer Key 2017
Once, the examination is successfully organised on 19th November 2017 (without any paper leak news), Union Public Service Commission will undoubtedly release CDS 2 Answer Key 2017.
Apart from this, very first thing which has to be clear to the applicants of UPSC CDS 2018 is that – for English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics, examination solution keys won’t be published separately. Rather, for these 2 hours duration and 100 marks papers for admission to OTA, IMA, INA and AFA, official Answer Keys will be revealed on one single day by UPSC.
Another crucial part to notice down here is that – Union Public Service Commission may take at least two or three weeks to prepare final solutions.
Whereas, on the CDS 2 2017 Exam Date [19th November 2017], various coaching institutes and different online forums will release unofficial Answer Keys from their side. But, following those solutions, an applicant can just have an idea of how many marks he/ she is going to score. But they can’t raise objection against it.
UPSC CDS 2 Cut Off 2017
Cut Off or minimum pass percentage or minimum marks required are different to get admitted in any of the four precious academies of Defence Services. Although, in general, UPSC release Cut Off Marks for Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Indian Air Force Academy, Officers’ Training Academy (Men), Officers’ Training Academy (Women).
But, cut off marks are not separately released for Economics, Polity, History, Science, Geo and Env. and Current Affairs etc. but, keeping previous year statistics in mind, trends can be observed and charted out.
As usual, CDS 2 Cut Off 2017 will also be released twice, once for written examination and another one after the interview which is better known as UPSC CDS 2018 Final Cut Off Marks.
An important chunk to notice here down is that – Before the successful organisation of the written examination, applicants can only come to know about Expected Cut Off Marks. Whereas, exact official cut off by UPSC will be released days later officially.
CDS 2 Result 2017
Combined Defence Services Examination is scheduled on 19.11.2017 and its result is expected with the gap of almost two and a half to three months in January 2018. Final Result and Merit List will be officially announced on Union Public Service Commission Official Website – www.upsc.gov.in or www.upsconline.nic.in.
After the publication of UPSC CDS 2018 result passed applicants will be called for an interview. But one thing to keep in mind is that – expectedly written examination result aggregate marks of last qualified candidate for AFA, IMA, INA, OTA (Men) and OTA (Women) will respectively be 138 [46%], 105 [35%], 99 [33%], 84 [42%] and 84 [42%].
Similar is the case for the interviewed selection procedure. An interview will be organised by SSB [Service Selection Board] and rarest of rare, only a few ordinary candidates who can do extraordinary things when the time comes across will be chosen. After CDS 2 Result 2017, this is another Merit List which will decide that only interview qualified candidates should be sent to Military Hospitals for a further medical check-up.
UPSC CDS Syllabus 2018
Syllabus of any examination is one of the most crucial parts to go through before examination. And, same is the case with Combined Defence Services Examination. Officially or unofficially, a number of websites only provides a syllabus for CDS Written test.
